Exploring Istanbul

For the umpteenth time I'm turning over a new page of my traveldiary, this time, new headline- Istanbul. So many bad things happened until I got there, but, that didn't stop andrenaline rush that always appears when I stand on the ground of the new city not knowing what's waiting around the corner.
On one side Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the only city that lies on two continents, on the other side, I, one person in a sea of tourists and a fact that I have only 5 days to see everything I wanted to see.
First stop- Asia!
This was the best decision i made before trip. Tourists go only to the European side which is in my opinion a big mistake, because Asia is the heart of Istanbul.
Kadiköy- center of the Asian part where you can feel the life, mixed smells, homemade food on every corner, bazar! You can easily go there by ferry, the music will wait for you on every corner.

At the bazaar you can find everything you can wish for, coffee, tea,  halva and other Turkish delights, fish, simit, vegetables, fruit and many other things which I'm not sure what they are but of course, must be tasted!

After the bazaar, comes Moda, quiet place by the water which offers a beautiful view of Sultanahmet. Completely different from the busy part Kadikoy, gives people possibility to get away from everyday problems by sleeping on the grass, drinking tea in silence.

While you are still on this side, you should visit the place from which you can see the Maiden's tower- Kiz Kulesi, the sunset is the one of the most beautiful I've ever seen.

Druga stavka- Evropa!

 The next stop- Europe!
On the European side you can see why Istanbul once was the capital of three empires, a magnificent mosques, palaces are the best examples. Top five places to visit:

2. Sultan Ahmed Plava džamija / Sultan Ahmed Mosque

3. Dolmabahče palata / Dolmabahce Palace

4. Grand Bazar- Jedan od najstarijih bazara na svetu, gde možete videti/kupiti odeću, keramiku, tepihe, lampe, kožu. Cenjkati se je obavezno!
4. Grand Bazaar- One of the oldest markets in the world, where you can see/buy clothes, ceramics, carpets, lamps, leather... Bargain is must!
5. Taksim square- a major tourist attraction, known for its numerous shops, reastauants, bars. It's always crowded but you have to go there because it's considered the center of modern Istanbul.

Obavezno probajte! You should try!

1. Kafu/ Coffee
2. Ratluk uz kafu/ Turkish delights
3. Čaj/ Tea
4. Simit
5. Turski doručak/ Turkish breakfast
